World Tuna Day • The United Nations (UN) established World Tuna Day on May 2 to raise awareness about the importance  of tuna and to promote more sustainable fishing practices. • It is observed for the first time in 2017. • World Tuna Day is aimed at spreading the information about tuna and the possible drastic impact because of  overfishing of tuna. Tuna fish is also very important in maintaining the food chain and ecosystem

International Spring Astronomy Day •International Astronomy Day is celebrated twice a year one in autumn and another in spring. • The Spring Astronomy Day is celebrated on May 2. The world will celebrate the next Astronomy Day on  September 26. • In 1973, Doug Berger, president of the Astronomical Association of Northern California, had organised the  celebration of first Astronomy Day. The idea behind observing the day is to create awareness and educate people  about the beautiful universe.
